Nobody around here is very good. The LPD will be fun, at this point I'd have to say CW is the team to beat but any of like 4 teams could win it. PV will beat somebody pretty good before it's over with, but i have a hard time believing they can win it right now, they just beat themselves to much. PV should have beat Richlands by two scores tonight and lost the game. I'd really like to see JJK play somebody worth a dime, it's hard to judge just how good they are. After the JIB score I'm a little hesitant on them, I wasn't impressed with Abingdon at all of course it was just a scrimmage, but it is what it is. When it is all said and done I think whoever we send from this area to Salem will get steam rolled in both D2 and D1.

SWD favorite Richlands escapes a war with the team many have picked to finish as low as 3rd in the LPD.

Clintwood hammers TN foe Happy Valley 29-6

Cellar-dwellar Pound moves to 2-1,waxing Castlewood

Norton,a team hit hard by graduation and picked by others to be the 3rd-best team in the LPD goes on the road and wipes out Abingdon.

J.J.Kelly,a team that folks have picked to finish 4th in the LPD humbles a PH team that gave Abingdon fits last week.

I tried to tell you newcomers on here that don't know much about LPD football what time it was. The Rebels and Falcons found out tonight (especially PH). The old-timers already know. You gotta strap 'em on tight when you go to battle with the Lonesome Pine Distric.

Now,the word I heard was PV outplayed Richlands,and got jobbed in the end. The LPD was a gnat's hair away from another sweep (and this time it wasn't against Cumberland squads-save for Pound). I'm not saying that we'll win state,but the LPD teams seem to be as good as anyone else within the region(s).

I am not so sure Region D will be sending any D2 school to Salem yet. Just waiting to see how Floyd does the next few weeks.

Region D D2 is wide open.

Floyd got beat tonight. PV makes to many mistakes, CW is probably our best team, JJK will have to beat somebody with clout before I can give them much recognition. The biggest win they have had in the last 8-9 years is over a PV team that went 5-6.

People can whine,bitch,and moan about JJK's schedule all they want,but the fact of the matter is that the TRIBE will get several opps this year to prove that they are or aren't a good football team (PV,Norton,Clintwood..etc). We'll see how it pans out,as the jury is still out on them. Folks have us picked 4th in the LPD. We'll see if that is the case by season's end.

Probably. I thought pregame, we'd get rolled last night. Luckily, HV's qb and head coach were our best players. They had a WR that reminded me of Austin Fuller (RL) that plays for VT right now and for some reason HV did everything they could to make sure that he didnt get the ball.

The thing I'm most excited about with CW is that they really on have two SR players that play right now, Bevel and Robinson. The rest are underclassmen. We'll return everyone next year except those two. I think we'll be pretty good by the end of the year but damn good next year. As soon as Rick figures out, what seems to be pretty obvious, who our RB is and starts him instead of putting him in in the 4th quarter, I think they'll be very good.

Had a good game in Tazewell last night. Not overly well played, but very evenly matched. The Mountain kid can move from Taz. He reminds me in size and speed of Jason Peterson I played with at RC. He returned 2 kicks last week against GC for TDs, and returned 2 punts again this week for both of Tazewell's scores. The ball just never did seem to bounce in Lebanon favor tonight. Had one muffed punt inside the 20 on a ball that bounced and hit one of the blockers in the back of the legs, just quirky things like that. #74 for Lebanon is a hoss when placed at LB. He moves very well for his size.

That Clintwood game was 14 - 6 in the 4th......The HV D got wore down and Clintwood running back by commity was able to keep freash legs in the game for the 4th qtr.

On a side note the 95+ yard INT was one of the strangest plays I have ever seen in HS the ball was on the 6 yard line the pass bounces out of the recevers hands then hits the heel of a defender the ball then shoots back toward the LOS where a D-Lineman catches it and runs it back for a TD

People may think I am crazy but I did not think Abingdon was that bad. I know they have been dreadful in the past and maybe Burton teams of the past few years would have steamrolled them but who knows. We didn't play all that well but Abingdon just wasn't rolling over either. As I said on the main board, any team in the LPD would be lucky to have their QB. They had 2-3 solid players but after that no real skill position players and that is what did them in. We have a lot of things to work on and all you can ask for is that we get better with each game.

We got a week off before PV, hopefully we can go into Bullitt and come away with a victory. Seems like so far you got Clintwood and then everybody else battling for 2nd place which should be a great battle between Wise, Norton, and PV. Who knows, crazier things have happened.

And you all were right about the seating, that is the biggest stadium (seating wise) around here that I can think off right off the top of my head. Abingdon filled about 90% of their stands too which surprised me, they came out pumped.
